ACCOMMODATIONS
You will begin the preceptorship by attending our professional Medical Evangelism Training & Strategies Conference held at a local business class hotel. During the conference you'll stay and eat at the hotel.
Afterwards, the preceptorship will move to a private university in Redlands, CA (about 60 miles east of Los Angeles) where you will be housed in furnished, air conditioned apartments. Each unit has a common living area, kitchen, four individual single bedrooms, two full baths and phone. Free high speed internet access will be available.
All meals will be provided in either the university cafeteria (all you care to eat) or through local caterers.
One preceptorship student described the campus and food this way.
Once you leave the METS Conference, you'll head to a university in Redlands. I'm not sure if the state of Nebraska is living in poverty or what, but my dorms in the corn state were nothing like here. The rooms are spacious, clean, and carpeted. The campus is very well kept and has a few sand volleyball courts and a basketball court (plus an state of the art fitness center-editor's note!). There is a fantastic swimming pool on campus with a high dive (make sure to double knot those swim trunks) - not that I know from experience.
The cafeteria food at Redlands is great too. I think its because the kitchen staff is so awesome. Lupe is everyone's favorite lunch lady. I thought I was pretty special because she was calling me sweetie, but then I found out she says that to all the boys. In all seriousness, the food was fantastic. I ate till I was full at every meal and there's always enough Golden Grahams to go around for those of you who are picky eaters.
The whole project gets two big thumbs up from the middle of Cornhusker country!!!
